The nice weather is finally here and we all love it. Perfect for golfing, hiking and all the other great activities Arizona has to offer.

The fourth quarter is always busy and this year is no exception. We have licensed 12 new entities as of this writing and we have the great likelihood of licensing at least a couple more before the end of the year. The total number of licenses issued since inception, therefore, is now 81 and 71 of them are still active. New formations for the year number 20. This pace continues to place us in the top 5 if not the top 3 most active domestic domiciles. That's a remarkable achievement considering that the other domiciles do so much more marketing and exert so much more effort in the process.

AzCIA Will Offer 2007 Captive Insurance Legislation

We are extremely pleased to announce that our Keynote Speaker for the 2007 AzCIA Annual Conference will be Andrew Barile, CPCU, President and CFO of Andrew Barile Consulting Corporation.  Mr. Barile has 44 years of insurance and reinsurance experience, and has written extensively about many aspects of captive industry from its infancy to the present. He has participated in all aspects of the insurance distribution system, including retailer, wholesaler, MGAs, insurer, reinsurance broker, reinsurer, and Lloyd's syndicate retrocessionaire.  He currently sits on the boards of captives, and provides consulting services in the captive insurance industry, especially in finding front capacity for difficult insurance coverage captives.  Hearing his commentary on the current changes occurring in our business should provide our attendees with a great perspective on captives and the overall industry.
